Snowshoe hike through the winter landscape around the small holiday resort of Preda along old muleteer paths, visit Switzerland’s most beautiful spot, the Lai da Palpuogna, and follow the trail through snowy pine forests.
Description
After a pleasant trip up the mountain pass aboard the Rhaetian Railway on the UNESCO World Heritage railway pioneering route to Preda, this circular snowshoe hike leads from the train station and along the old muleteer route to the Lai da Palpuogna.
This idyllically situated lake was chosen in a survey as the "most beautiful spot in Switzerland". In the winter it is mostly covered by snow, but when the weather is cold enough and the precipitation is low, the lake freezes to black ice and one can even go skating on it.
The return route follows the pass road, which is closed during the winter, and then takes you along the hiking trail through the Lavizun forest to the Preda train station. Enjoy a hot drink at the Hotel Preda Kulm.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
