Wallbach Gorge
Overview
Intro
Wallbach Gorge is a cool tip for a hot day. The wide stream bed at the end of the falls and the outdoor grill are both enjoyable places to spend time.
Wallbach Gorge is in Simmental Valley west of Lenk. Here the Wallbach River cascades over the precipice of a limestone slab, plunging down several metres. Together with pebbles and scree, the water has carved out of the limestone cylindrical holes that are several metres deep. There is even a barbecue area in this area of natural beauty.
A one-hour walk from Lenk along the Wallbach River through the misty gorge to the Walleg valley station.
Getting there: From the Lenk train station, it is just a short walk to the entrance of the gorge.
