Built in 1908, the Vedetta was completely renovated and modernised in 2016.
The Vedetta has an efficient and quiet energy system with electric quick charging – a first in Switzerland. Passengers take the solar-powered boat through a waterway to enchanting villages along the shore, which would be practically impossible to reach by land. The gastronomic specialities of “Cambusa Lugano” can be tasted on board upon request. Or, passengers can simply relax and enjoy the trip from grotto to grotto.
The solar-powered Vedetta boat can accommodate 30 passengers and one boatman – but of course it can also be rented for a romantic voyage for two plus one boatman..
Good to know
The Vedetta boats come from the Hamburg shipyard Daurer & Kaufmann and Janssen & Schmilinsky. The steel used to build them came from the factories of August Thyssen, the grandfather of Baron Thyssen Bornemisza, the former owner of Villa Favorita on the shores of Lugano/Castagnola.
