Intro

Switzerland is a true biker’s paradise. The bicycle can be easily transported by train or bus.

On most SBB trains and private railways, the bicycle can be individually taken onboard. All that is needed is a valid bicycle ticket. In Cantons Grisons, Valais and Berne, PostBuses with special trailers or tail racks offer bicycle transport as well. By the way: If a bike can be folded and stored in a suitable carry case, it can even be taken along free of charge as hand luggage. Carry cases are available at the baggage claim counters of some railway stations, at the SBB online shop or in bike or outdoor specialist shops. Travellers can always opt for bike transport as luggage item instead of individual transport. Bicycles can be handed over for transport at any Swiss railway station.
