The campus has been refurbished in terms of its energy technology according to the latest standards, and the difference is clear and measurable. The photovoltaic system was fitted with microinverters so that the current output can be displayed and analysed online. The setup of the roof and façade is also visible. The wood chip heating technology and the electrostatic removal of soot can also be monitored.

Gerbi-Hüüs, Reckingen

The Gerbi Hüüs and Walliser Spycher were built to welcome weary travellers at the end of the 18th century and underwent a total renovation in 2012/13. Inside, old timbers have been combined with modern building materials, and two modern apartments were created. A photovoltaic system on the shingle roof produces electricity, while solar panels in the garden and geothermal probes ensure hot water and pleasant temperatures in the apartments.

Ferienzentrum Centro Magliaso, Magliaso

Centro Magliaso is a holiday centre within an extensive park landscape on the shores of Lake Lugano. Since 2014, hot water and heating of the swimming pool have been ensured by means of a lake water heat pump. This saves the Centro 70,000 litres of heating oil each year. More and more photovoltaic panels are being installed on the roofs to feed electricity into the Centro’s own power grid. Orderly waste management and efforts to combat food waste are important to the cooperative.

Berg- und Ferienhaus Fuhr, Spiringen

A fabulous mountain vista with a clear view of the stars! The Berg- und Ferienhaus Fuhr offers so much more: an array of solar panels ensures hot water and heats the ground floor with infrared panels. The first floor and top floor are heated by fireclay stoves that get their fuel from the holiday home’s own forest. The holiday home has its own spring water to cover all its needs. Ecological products are used for washing and cleaning. Its own farm supplies delicious organic produce.

Berghaus der Gemeinde Möriken-Wildegg, Bettmeralp

The building’s energy systems underwent a total renovation in summer 2020. The exterior of the building has been renovated, and the original oil-fuelled central heating system from 1988 has been replaced with a geothermal heat pump. A photovoltaic system on the balcony balustrades produces solar power on site. All these measures combined made it possible to reduce CO₂ emissions by 85%.
