Brambrüesch – Chur’s local mountain
Overview
Intro
In just 12 minutes, the mountain railway takes you from the Graubünden city of Chur to 1600 metres up to the local mountain Brambrüesch. At the top, hiking trails and a wide mountain panorama over the Graubünden mountains await you.
The Brambrüesch at a glance
At 1600 metres above sea level lies the high plateau of the Brambrüesch with a wide view over the Graubünden mountains. Sun terrace, hiking trails, cross golf and scooter rides into the valley provide variety. The valley station can be reached from the train station in 3 minutes by city bus (line 1). The cable car and gondola lift lead to the plateau via the Känzeli middle station.
What to experience
Pleasure hike Brambrüesch–Känzeli (60–90 minutes)
From the mountain station you walk across the high plateau, past mountain restaurants, through the forest and across alpine meadows downhill to the Känzeli middle station. On the sloping and wide path you can enjoy the view of the Arosa Weisshorn and the Weissfluh. From Känzeli you take the cable car back to Chur.
- Good to know: The hike can also be done with a stroller.
- Tip: On Sundays, the mountain restaurant serves brunch with a mountain panorama.
Play Cross Golf (45–60 minutes)
On the Brambrüesch cross-golf course, you can play 9 holes on mountain meadows between the mountain station and the "Bergbaiz" restaurant. The lanes are between a few and 94 meters long. The goal of each hole is not a hole, but a clearly visible wooden object. You can get rackets and balls at the mountain station.
- Good to know: Tickets can be purchased directly at the valley station of the mountain railways.
- Tip: Groups of 10 or more people register 3 days in advance.
With the scooter from Brambrüesch to the Känzeli
Rent a scooter at the mountain station and ride downhill on the 5-kilometre-long nature trail to the Känzeli middle station. You set the pace yourself. If you like it fast and challenging, choose an XL skateboard or a dirt surf. At the Känzeli you hand in the device and take the gondola back to Chur.
- Good to know: Children from the age of 10 are allowed to ride scooters alone.
