Nicolas Faure’s large-format and precisely composed tableaux testify to his mastery of the colour photograph. His images show everyday situations that give expression to the complexity of modern society, the simultaneity of the non-simultaneous or the overlapping of different lifeworlds. Gornergrat, which at first glance seems static, is brimming with subtle allusions and inner tension. It is a reflection on the familiar and the alien, on sightseeing and travelling and on human relationships.
