Zurich, Suisse (Zürich, Switzerland)
Based on his pictures, René Burri built two large photographic installations, which he called “MegaPhotoMobil”. Presented at his 1984 One World exhibition in Zurich and Lausanne, these original works are enhanced by play, sound, and lighting elements. The merry-go-round in Zurich, decorated with some 40 light bulbs, flashes to the background noises of a fun fair. Today, his installations, which were restored by the Burri family for the first anniversary of the photographer’s death, are held by the archive of the Foundation René Burri, which was established at the Musée de l’Elysée in 2013.
