Creators Cut Switzerland – The City Tour Episode 2: Basel
Intro
In Basel, the day begins between modern districts and hidden squares, where both creators immerse themselves in urban life. Chris and Eren discover cultural highlights, local insider tips and special moments that make the complexity of the city visible. An episode full of surprises, intense impressions and a new perspective on Basel.
After their discovery tour through Geneva, the journey of the two creators Chris and Eren continues to Basel – the second city of their Swiss Challenge. Basel invites you to explore with world-class museums, historic alleys and local traditions. Here they can expect new contrasts that show the character of the city in an exciting way.
From the tranquil Rhine to the sweetness of old recipes, the city combines tradition with innovation and calls it home.
For Eren, the day starts with a coffee before he takes on the challenge of "Intimate vs. Monumental". His first stop: The Basel Cathedral, where he enjoys the monumental view from above. He then explores Schaulager Basel – an intimate museum with exciting exhibitions – and strolls through the winding alleys of the old town, discovering intimate corners and hidden places that capture Basel's personal character. At the end of his day, he stages a nightly shoot that shows the city from completely new perspectives.
Chris dedicates himself to the contrast "Reinvention vs. Heritage". He starts at the art museum, experiences the creative energy and modern interpretation of art before making Basler Läckerli himself in Switzerland's oldest biscuit factory – tradition up close. He then crosses the Rhine on a historic boat from 1853, a moment of peace and reflection, before ending his day in the modern Dreispitz area and discovering the industrial, architectural side of Basel.
In the evening, Chris and Eren meet again, exchange their experiences and review the diverse impressions of Basel: Imposing buildings, hidden corners, old traditions and modern reinventions. Full of curiosity and anticipation, they watch each other's contrasting videos – the result of their individual challenge. Satisfied, inspired and with new perspectives on the city, they look back on Basel and are eagerly looking forward to the last stop on their journey of discovery of Swiss cities: Zurich.
