Intro

This orange tube wends its way in an untamed and slightly playful manner from the river along the gap between the Governor’s Castle and the new buildings and up to the Lägernfels rock. It forms an unexpected line that draws glances from all directions.

You can sense the sculpture as a dividing line or as the interface between the old and the new building construction. The tube tends to irritate onlookers with its lack of a regular arc and consistent level. Untamed, unnameable and unpredictable, the line wends and winds its way up from the river. The fact that this easily movable 30-metre long steel tube rests on only one point gives it the appearance of being a piece of light, hovering filigree. Artist Eric Hattan, who grew up in the neighboring town of Wettingen, thus created a work that gives tangible expression to architectural references and conditions while also being symbolic.
