Development in the Near and Middle East - A presentation by Michael Wrase
Overview
Intro
In-depth background information and personal impressions of the crisis regions of the Middle East, presented by Michael Wrase
In the Middle East, not a day goes by without new bad news. With the refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other crisis countries, the uncertainty has reached Central Europe. The war in the Gaza Strip is also polarizing like no other conflict in recent years.
We desperately ask ourselves whether these wars, the almost daily horror and terror, will never end? Why is "international politics" unable to resolve the escalating conflict in the Holy Land peacefully? It is difficult, if not impossible, to answer these questions conclusively at the moment.
What is possible and helpful, however, is to provide guidance for better understanding, to point out the background and to share personal experiences from the crisis regions of the Middle East. These are an integral part of my lectures, which I have given for many years in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and at symposia in Muscat, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Doha and Nicosia.
