On the Wednesday before "feiste Donnschtag", the carnival is officially opened in Glis.

The Brig-Glis children's carnival parade takes place on "Feiste Donnschtag". Organised by the Bäjizunft Glis-Gamsen-Brigerbad and the Türkenbund Brig-Mekka.
