Malandain Ballet Biarritz - Midi-Minuit
Overview
Intro
For Thierry Malandain, music is at the heart of the creative process. His ballets emerge from an intimate dialogue with composers, transcending eras and words.
For Thierry Malandain, music is at the heart of the creative process. His ballets emerge from an intimate dialogue with composers, transcending eras and words. With this program, he brings together three major figures of French music—Saint-Saëns, Poulenc, and Ravel—whose works blend tradition and modernity. *Midi Minuit* spans three decades of creativity: *Midi pile*, set to Poulenc’s *Concerto for Two Pianos*; *Minuit et demi*, set to melodies by Saint-Saëns; and Ravel’s iconic *Boléro*. Three pieces driven by a single impulse: to create a dialogue between dance and music until they become one.
