Open doors at the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona
Overview
Intro
During the summer, on some Saturdays, coinciding with the busy city market, the Teatro Sociale Bellinzona opens its doors to anyone who wishes to visit from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
This allows free access to the only Italian-style theater still standing in Switzerland, a building that is a historic monument of national importance and part of the European Route of Historic Theaters.
Visitors are provided with information sheets in Italian and German on the history of the Teatro Sociale Bellinzona and its characteristics as an Italian-style theater, complemented by illustrated information panels.
A richly illustrated book on the history and architectural features of the building is available for CHF 20. Theater staff are always available to provide further information.
Admission is free and possible at any time during opening hours, with no reservation required.
