Booking note:

For this family program, at least one child and one adult must be booked together.

All participants require their own booking.

Duration: approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Requirements

Registration until the day before at 4:00 PM.

Equipment

The cheese cave has a pleasantly cool temperature – perfect for the cheese, but quite chilly for visitors.

Pack a warm jacket so that both young and old can enjoy the visit comfortably.

Difficulty

The entrance to the cave is via a steep staircase and a short ladder.

Suitable for

For families with children aged 6 and up

The cheese grotto offers a fascinating exhibition with exciting insights into the world of cheese – ideal for curious explorers from around 6 years old.

While there are no interactive elements, the wealth of information and the special atmosphere make the visit an educational experience.

For younger children, the exhibition might be less exciting – we therefore recommend the visit primarily for school-aged children and older.

Meeting point

Cheese Cave Gstaad, Bissenstrasse 83, there are no parking spaces available on-site.

Please use the parking lot at the base station Wasserngrat and walk back to the signpost "Käsegrotte" (500 meters).

From Gstaad train station, you can reach the Cheese Cave on foot in about 45 minutes, or take the bus towards 182 Turbach at 10:37 AM in 8 minutes.

Arrival Information

Individual arrival at the Cheese Cave Gstaad.

As only a few parking spaces are available directly on site, we recommend a stress-free arrival by Postauto Line 182. The transport is free with the Gstaad Card.

Departure: Gstaad train station at 14:37 towards Turbach

Arrival: Stop Bissenegg at 14:45 – from there it is just a few steps to the Cheese Cave.

After the visit, a pleasant walk back to the village leads through the beautiful landscape of the Saanenland.

Walking time: approx. 30 minutes
