Intro

The Lucerne long-distance hiker Jürg Schaffhuser explored Europe on foot for 35 years. The exhibition shows 10 of his hikes with maps, pictures, stories and a film from Sicily.

The Lucerne long-distance hiker and author Jürg Schaffhuser has explored our continent on foot over the past 35 years. Starting in Lucerne, ten major routes have taken him to the edges of Europe in numerous monthly stages. His hiking experiences sharpened his senses and allowed small moments to become big - for example, when a flock of starlings takes off in breathtaking flight maneuvers.
