Zurich Pride Festival
Overview
Intro
Enlightening, challenging, and engaging.
Since 1994, Christopher Street Day has been held regularly in Zurich to fight against discrimination and for the rights of the LGBT+ community (LGBT+ stands for "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender", the + stands in solidarity for all other sexualities). In 2009, Zurich hosted Europride, which was taken as an opportunity to rename Christopher Street Day to Zurich Pride Festival. The peaceful demonstration parade of Zurich Pride is the political manifestation of the queer community of the whole of Switzerland and its friends.
