Group Excursions in Engelberg

The journey to the Titlis is truly an adventure in itself. First take the Titlis Xpress gondola to the middle station, then continue your journey in the TITLIS Rotair, the world’s first revolving cable car, all the way to the top.

The cable cars once used by mountain farmers are known in Swiss dialect as Buiräbähnli. They are now are the highlight of a multi-day hike through the mountains of the Engelberg region – the Buiräbähnli Safari.

The Benedictine Monastery, built in 1120, forms the center of Engelberg. To date there are still approximately 30 monks living and working in the Engelberg monastery.

Successful cooking on an open fire requires some special ingredients. A pinch of creativity, large amounts of teamwork and communication, as well as a good portion of timing are necessary for the mission to succeed. In the middle of nature, a 3-course menu is conjured up from regional products with local chefs without any electricity.

The Alpine Cheese Trail links seven alp dairies on an attractive hiking route through Engelberg’s diverse countryside. On the Alps, you’ll discover the appeal of the traditional alpine cheese and learn all about how difficult life can be on the summer grazing pastures.

The journey from Engelberg to Ristis serves as the starting point of the Walenpfad, a popular high-altitude hike from Ristis to Bannalp. The cable car ride up to Ristis, featuring breathtaking mountain panoramas, is worth the trip itself.

The River Aa at times crashes over rocks, then squeezes through wedge-shaped boulders or lingers in a quiet stream bed.
