The historic museum in Baden consists of a Bailiwick castle and an elegant extension building. It dedicates itself to the history of the city as well as the region of Baden, while also exposing itself to current events. Various exhibitions allow insights into past and current living environments.
The diverse collection comprises of prehistoric, roman and early mediaeval findings, sacral art, cultural, historical and documentary information about the Bailiwick and the history of the city. This collection includes civil and Jewish emancipation, urban living-, bath-, and industrial culture spanning between the 17th to the 20th century as well as a collection of paintings dating from the 19th to the 20th century.
