Patinoire naturelle de Caux
Overview
Intro
In the heart of the village of Caux, a 20-minute train ride from Montreux, avid ice skaters will find a natural ice rink in an idyllic setting.
Surrounded by trees, the open-air convivial natural ice rink in Caux welcomes skaters from mid-December to mid-March, weather permitting. The village of Caux, with its majestic palace, old Grand Hotel, chapels and train station, has preserved its Belle Epoque charm. During this era, the ice rink welcomed famous ice skaters such as Andrée Brunet née Joly and Pierre Brunet. It also served as a training ground for the Montreux-Caux Curling Club until the 1950s. Today it is open to everyone and admission is inexpensive, making it a particularly attractive venue for families.
