Description
From alp to alp, this is how the Gämschfax bike tour could be described in brief. Start the circuit at the train station Oberwald. On the first few kilometres of the tour you ride on the regular road in the direction of Furkapass as far as Rhonequelle. From here a forest trail leads you past mighty larches. At the border of the forest you switch to a single trail which will bring you to the place called Gämschfax. On this whole tour you always have a splendid view over the Goms mountain world and the majestic Weisshorn greets you from a distance.
After crossing the Obertal, your descent into the valley starts by the Üerlichergale on a forest trail. Your ride takes you past beautiful alpine pastures to the first trees of the mountain forest. Soon the first sun-darkened barns and huts appear in lush meadows. This is an ideal tour for those seeking sports challenges in nature, far away from hectic tourist masses!
