Intro

The Herzschlaufe Napf is a spectacular discovery trail all the way round the Napf. Three days of being guided through this wild trail in Switzerland. The route leads over promising mountain ranges, through deep ditches and picturesque town centres. E-Bikes are recommended and can be rented.

Description

From picturesque Willisau, you coast over delightful rolling hills, past proud farmsteads and dreamy hamlets. On the journey to Wyssachen, it becomes more rustic - you can really feel how close you are to the Napf now. You will get a magnificent view of the rugged face of this vast hillscape from the ridge. Heading to Sumiswald and the venerable Sumiswald and Trachselwald castles, you continue uphill to Lüderenalp, the starting point for hikes around the Napf. A descent through the epic Gohlgraben leads you to Langnau, the first stop destination.

By following the valley floor, you will reach Trubschachen, where the Kambly Experience is as a sweet stop on your route. The route leaves the populated area and climbs up to a mountain range with a view of the Napf and the Alps. The boundaries of the cantons overlap in Turner at the highest point of 1200 metres in altitude. A rapid descent brings the cyclist back to Escholzmatt in the canton of Lucerne and shortly thereafter the cyclist disappears into the lush green of the Biosphere Reserve.

Coming from Entlebuch, you come down secluded paths through the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Switzerland’s largest and most numerous moorlands can be found here in Lucerne’s «Wild West». The route continues to get steeper and steeper. The road winds its way downhill to Fontanne, - a ditch with a riverscape in harmony with nature - heading over a ridge just before the main ridge of the Napf. Through bleak valleys and through steep forest roads, you climb up ridges with breath-taking views again before happily letting yourself be carried away by the rolling hills towards the municipality of Willisau.

An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
