Horneggli-Panoramaweg
Overview
Intro
This tour isn’t called a panoramic route for nothing. The entire route offers fascinating views of the striking Alpine terrain around Gstaad, including the Rüebli, Gummfluh and Northern Alps massif.
Description
This hike starts at Zweisimmen, the eastern portal to the destination of Gstaad. From here there is a comfortable cable car ride up the Rinderberg. At over 2,000 metres above sea level, an amazing panorama of both the Simmental and Saanenland unfolds before your eyes. Follow the sign for Hornberg/Horneggli. The short ascent takes you over the Gandlouenen Ridge and onward to the Parwenge Alp. At the farm on the Parwenge Alp you can purchase products made on site, such as Alpine cheese and «Nideltäfeli».
On the way to the Hornberg there is a magnificent view of the pristine Turbachtal. And once you pass the Hornberg, the signposted Blumenweg trail goes left past the Hornfluh. On your way to the station for the Horneggli chairlift you encounter many fascinating names such as Grünstieliger Streifenfarn (Asplenium viride). It is a comfortable ride by chairlift to Schönried, and from here it is easy to catch the train back to Zweisimmen.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
