Kiental Trail
Overview
Intro
A real hidden gem of the idyllic mountain landscape of the Kandertal valley. Absolute hightlight: the Tschingellake with its 300m width and 800m length, which was created in 1972 during a stormy night.
Description
One of the most impressive snow shoe trails of the region brings you along the bottom station of the chair lift Ramslauenen towards the area Lengschwendi. Following the snowy fields, the hike takes you until "Gürmschi", the highest point of the tour.
After descenting to Fulbrunni, snow shoe hikers can follow the river of the Gorneren back to the village of Kiental. However, if you choose this shorter roundtour of 7.4km will miss out on the actual highlight: the lake of Tschingel, which is being circulated on the original tour. The lake between Kiental and Griesalp was created 1972 after a big thunderstorm which caused a debris flow and dammed the stream. Since 1987, the area of Tschingelsee is a nature protected area. Within the past few years, the lake has dried out regularly by the end of summer. However, the stunning scenery with its high waterfalls is the place to be in the Kiental area. Surrounded by a forest site, the route follows the river of "Chiene" until you reach the cable car Ramslouene and make your way back to Kiental.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
