Maderanertal Bike
Overview
Intro
Discover one of the most popular hiking and biking areas in the holiday region of Uri. The valley Maderanertal is truly romantic with roaring rivers and spraying water falls. The destination is the Swiss Alpine Club hotel Maderanertal.
Description
The first part of this tour leads along the sealed road to the village of Bristen. The spectacular road, which is partially carved into the rocks and winds itself up with narrow corners, makes you gaze in wonder again and again down into the valley. Passing Bristen you can recover on the flatter part to the gondola station of Golzern.
Then you follow the river Chärstelen, steadily climbing to the cosy restaurant Lägni. Next, the tour leads further through forests and scented alpine meadows - and always accompanied with the roaring of the river. At the Swiss Alpine Club hotel Maderanertal, which has its origins in the golden days of mountain guides, you will be rewarded with local hospitality and a fantastic view down the valley.
The way back leads to the alp Butzli, and don't miss the detour to the idyllically located lake Butzlisee! From there the route follows a single trail with technically challenging passages to Guferen and then further to the alp of Stössi, where you can buy excellent alpine cheese. Via Herenlimi you then again reach the gondola station of Golzern. At St. Anton you branch off towards Vorder Ried and to finish the tour you can enjoy the attractive single trail towards Amsteg.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
