Mägisalp–Bidmi Run
Overview
Intro
With a view over the mountainous landscape of Haslital, this sledge run offers an experience for the whole family. Passing forests of spruce trees, the track runs from Mägisalp to Bidmi.
Description
With the unique panoramic view before your eyes, it all kicks off: The sound of sledge runners on fresh snow, whizzing down the slope past enchanting forests of snow-capped trees.
This family-friendly sledge run begins at the top mountain station of Mägisalp, and runs down to the middle station of Bidmi about three and a half kilometres down. The track begins with a short descent. Then the path goes through the snowy spruce forest. In some places, it is worth reducing your speed slightly to enjoy the view – through the deep green trees you can catch a quick glimpse of the Eiger and Wetterhorn mountains.
There is a sharp bend in two or three places. You will also need to watch out for pedestrians, as the sledge track runs alongside the Mägisalp–Bidmi winter hiking trail. Passing the little Bidmisee Lake, you will reach the end of the run. Here, you can take the cable car down to Meiringen.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
