Padella-Corviglia-Panoramatour
Overview
Intro
Big circular tour in the Upper Engadine leading to the finest vantage points and through idyllic woods with Lej Zuppo and Lej da Statz bathing lakes. There are several joining and exit points which means this tour can easily be split into stages.
Description
From Celerina the route follows the emerging Inn to Samedan. From there you start climbing to the Alp Muntasch, which is farmed during the summer months. Along the panorama trail below the Piz Padella you keep catching sight of the Upper Engadine and the Bernina Valley from different angles. From Padella Kulm a flowing trail takes you down to the Marguns summit station and on via Lei Alv up to the Corviglia summit station.
The WM Flowtrail is reserved for mountain bikers and winds its way along the ridge, offering fabulous panoramic views. After a spectacular 360° curve, there’s a comfortable downhill pump track which leads to the cozy Chamanna Trutz mountain hut and onwards, passing the legendary El Paradiso hut. From the Alp Suvretta, the challenging single track offers a view of Lake Silvaplana. Parallel to the Julier Pass road, the route takes you down to the village of Silvaplana.
From Surlej the character of the tour changes completely. The mountain pine forest with its hill moors, little moor lakes, tall grass and fern has something mystical and magical about it. In mid-summer, the Lej Zuppo and further along the Statzer Lake tempt you to take a dip. Through the Statzer Forest, made famous by the Engadine Ski Marathon, and on the descent to Celerina you can relax and enjoy the scent of the pine forest.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
