Description
The Panorama Ride is a circular route around the Prättigau region. The first of the three stages starts in St. Antönien, the highest village in the commune of Luzein and the first Swiss mountaineers’ village. Shaped by the local Walser culture, time seems to pass more slowly here. Taking you through the scattered settlements with their sun-kissed wooden façades, the trail heads down into the valley and on to Küblis. The challenging climb to the ski resort of Madrisa is rewarded with stunning views from a traverse looking towards Piz Bernina, Piz Zupò and Piz Palü.
The landscape on the northern side of the Prättigau is more mellow and expansive. On the second stage from Klosters Platz to Pragg-Jenaz, you’ll cross into the high moors of Conterser Duranna, a valuable habitat for various flora and fauna. Alpine roses, gentians, lady of the snow and bird’s-eye primroses bathe the meadows in their bright colours. On the opposite side of the valley, the Rätikon mountain chain rises with the peaks of the Alpstein, Schesaplana, Kanzelköpfen, Drusenfluh and Sulzfluh.
The third stage takes you from Pragg-Jenaz and over the peak of Furna to Grüsch. Flowing trails replace the mountain roads, taking you through typically alpine landscapes, across meadows and past mountain pastures and steep ravines. The route ends with a long descent into the village of Grüsch.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
