Parcours de l’Intermédiaire
Overview
Intro
The snowshoe route starting above Charmey is located in the heart of the Fribourg pre-alpine region. It leads through forests, across clearings and along rivers. On this easy tour, you can admire the Dents Vertes above the Charmey ski area.
Description
The circular hike starts at the middle station of the Charmey cable car. The trail quickly leaves the small ski area behind and winds closely along the edge of the forest towards Gros Ganet. From here, there is a fantastic view of the Dents Vertes, with the peaks of the Pointe sur le Roc, the Dent de Vounetse and the Tour Ronde.
Upon arriving at Vieilles Ciernes, you will be captivated by the view over the village of Charmey and the Lac de Montsalvens reservoir, which shimmers with an icy coldness on the valley floor. The dark fir forests, on the other hand, appear almost black as they cover the gentle hills and form a contrast to the snowy winter landscape. Again and again you come across snow-covered pasture fences. They run like fine lines through the meadows where in summer, cows graze on the alpine pastures.
On the descent, you pass the alpine huts of La Chéta before a final counter-climb up to the middle station. From here, you can take the cable car back down to the valley or to the summit of Vounetse, where a panoramic view of the entire Gruyère region awaits you.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
