Senda quatter lags da Flem
Overview
Intro
Touring the waterways of Grisons: This route takes you past four idyllic mountain lakes – Lag Prau Pulté, Lag Prau Tuleritg and the Caumasee and Crestasee lakes – adding emerald-green and azure-blue accents to the landscape of Flims. There are more highlights to see along the way too, like the view into the Rhine Gorge from the Il Spir observation platform and the scenic stretch through the Felsbach Gorge.
Description
The Four Lakes Hike starts at the Flims Dorf valley station. The route begins by heading west into the Val Stenna, with the river Flem running through it. After a short climb, you will soon find yourself descending once more, past the Runcahöhe with its eponymous restaurant and through an enchanting mountain forest. The moss-covered trees and rocks look like something out of a fairytale, a secret meeting place for dwarfs, fairies and other woodland creatures. At the lower end of the forest, the route leads round the picturesque Lag Prau Pulté lake. If you haven’t already done so, this is the perfect point to stop and take plenty of photos – the water sparkles and glistens so splendidly!
Next, carry on down to the Prau la Selva sports centre. From here you simply follow the route all the way to the second lake, Lag Prau Tuleritg. A little further on, the next lake – the Caumasee – will already be in sight. This lake is known far and wide for its shimmering emerald-green waters. It’s always worth pausing here for a while and perhaps taking a dip in the lake.
A short climb will take you up into the cool shade of Flims forest. When you reach the clearing at Conn, you will find the Il Spir viewing platform, where you can enjoy the breathtaking sight of the Rhine Gorge. And if you’ve already eaten all the provisions in your rucksack, you can stop at Restaurant Conn for refreshments. A gentle descent will take you back through the forest and on to the fourth and final lake on this route – the Crestasee. This is a great place to stop for a swim and a snack too.
Next, it’s time to head uphill again. In the impressive Felsbach Gorge, the route branches off down a narrow path to a small viewpoint directly over the turbulent waters of the stream below. After passing a forest of gnarled beech trees in Uaul Pign, you will end up back in Flims. Overall, the Four Lakes Hike is an undemanding but thoroughly rewarding experience for the whole family.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
