Description
The Sparenmoos cross-country ski trail enjoys a beautiful mountain setting. The area at the foot of the Hundsrügg above Zweisimmen has already served as the venue for the Swiss cross-country skiing championships. The trail includes a varied mosaic of moors, meadows and small groves of trees. Due to its particular beauty and the variety of moorland types here, the area around Sparenmoos-Nujeberg, through which this trail runs, is considered to be a moorland of national importance.
This cross-country ski trail set on a snow-sure and sun-drenched high plateau offers a varied route through the gently rolling hills. It affords enchanting views from Stockhorn to Les Diablerets. After leaving the Berghaus Sparenmoos you head for Site Alp, at which point the view into the Simmental opens up. The trail makes a turn on the Upland Moor Stockbrunnen and there is an additional loop towards Hüsliberg. The way back to the Berghaus Sparenmoos affords wide views of the valley and of the Vaud Alps.
If you wish, you can round off your cross-country skiing experience at the Buvette located right by the finishing line with a snack made of regional products.
