Intro
The Jakobsweg leads from Wattenwil in the Gürbetal valley through the rural landscape of the Schwarzenburgerland up to Schwarzenburg. There are fantastic views of the Stockhorn mountain range all along the way, whilst on the other side you can see over towards western Switzerland. You walk through small villages with picture-postcard churches. In Rüeggisberg there are some impressive ruins of a former monastery.

Wattenwil - Burgistein - Riggisberg - Mättiwil - Rüeggisberg - Wislisau - Elisried - Schwarzenburg
Always following the brown signs of the Jakobsweg, the route firstclimbs up from Wattenwil to Burgistein and then on to Riggisberg. Thescene is one of open country with wide fields. The path continues toclimb gently up to Rüeggisberg. Then you go down past the monasterybuildings to the Schwarzwassergraben. On the other side of the valley,a short but steep climb takes you up to a high plateau. You carry onwalking westwards and eventually reach the regional capital ofSchwarzenburg.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
