Egguweg – herbs and culture. The Egguweg trail takes visitors on an exciting 17-stop tour of Albinen’s natural and culture heritage. You’ll learn about medicinal herbs, edible mountain herbs and the flora of the mountain regions. The stations (“Eggu”) along the route provide interesting information about the various ways in which the herbs are used. Keep your eyes and ears peeled as you walk and you may spot colourful butterflies, nimble lizards and other animals besides.

“Métairies” – the mountain inns of the Jura region

Farmsteads known as “métairies” are found scattered throughout the Jura region and also receive guests and serve them traditional specialities. The innkeepers, known as “métayers”, adopt the pace of nature and not only run a farm alongside their inns, but sometimes also produce their own cheese. The innkeepers are as welcoming and authentic as the dishes they serve.
