Feeling of coming home Destination Wedding of Nikita an William in Lucerne

We chose Switzerland for our destination wedding location because my late father was born and raised outside of Zurich, so as a way to honor him we decided to be married in beautiful Switzerland. He loved this country so much, and his presence was felt during our special weekend. Of course, it is one of the most stunning settings, especially in Lucerne with the mountains and the lake as the backdrop, so it was never a question to not have our wedding in Switzerland. It allowed my family from Zurich, as well as my family Berlin (my mother’s side), to be there for my wedding day, but also we had so many family and friends travel from the states to celebrate with us. I think destination weddings are becoming more common and the feedback from our guests was overwhelmingly positive, with most having been excited to travel to Switzerland and have a reason to explore and make an experience out of it.

We had a wonderful experience with all of our vendors! There was so much love and care behind the execution in every component of our wedding that we never felt like it was a business to them, but rather felt that they truly cared about us and our guests. I think in America, the wedding industry has become largely monetised, so it was refreshing to have vendors there on your special day that truly felt like they wanted to make it the best day of your life. 

That’s difficult to answer, because we had so many memorable and fun moments! Of course our ceremony was the most impactful and important part, and the scenery with the florals was absolutely breathtaking, but I think that we really enjoyed the party at the end of dinner because we could let loose and dance the night away with all of our closest friends and family. Dj Spino with the addition of Freddy on the saxophone is one component that I would recommend to ANY couple who wants to have a real fun party with a packed dance floor! We had a dessert buffet and late night snacks catered by Kauer as well so when the dancing made us hungry, our guests had options to choose from.
