He is the best skier in the world, having become the world champion in 2023 – just one year after having won an Olympic gold for alpine skiing. What’s more, he’s also won the overall World Cup twice.
Winter is the most beautiful time of year – and Switzerland the most beautiful place to ski.

Swiss ski racer Marco Odermatt is the high-flyer on the alpine ski circuit. Despite his young age (he was born on 8 October 1997), he has already won all the major titles. He is an Olympic champion, a world champion and an overall World Cup winner to boot, and he is breaking one record after another.
He holds the record for the most World Cup points in a season, as well as the record for the most wins in a season. Odermatt not only shines in his main discipline of Giant Slalom, but also ranks among the top performers in the Super-G and Downhill categories. What’s more, the native of Nidwalden also embodies the new, younger generation. As an ambassador for Switzerland Tourism, he wants to motivate even more people to take up snow sports.
