Hiking: Around the Bernina group

Panorama Hikes in Engadine and in Val Malenco The glaciers of the Bernina massif shine a bright white and are one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps. These panoramas will be the backdrop of your unique hiking tour. The starting point of this tour is Pontresina– a lovely settlement in the heart of the Engadine valley. Your hike leads through the peaceful Val Rosegg and the march over the Fuorcla Surlej pass is going to be a first challenge. From here you descend to the sparkling waters of Lake Sils and continue to Maloja - a small settlement in the furthest corner of Engadine. Once you cross the Muretto Pass and the Italian border, you’ll be immersed in a magnificent mountain world where time seems to stand still. Colourful Alpine meadows, deep green forests and sparkling lakes make hiking through the Valmalenco valley a wonderfully idyllic experience. You return to Switzerland via the Pass da Cancian and continue your tour in the lovely Val Poschiavo. Then you follow the call of the Piz Bernina! After a short stop at the pass, the trail will take you up to the Diavolezza mountain lodge where you can enjoy the sunset over the peaks of the Bernina massif. After visiting Munt Pers, home of the beautiful mountain fairy, you will descend into the idyllic Val da Fain from where you'll walk back to Pontresina.
