From Lake Biel to Creux-du-Van The Three Lakes Region is the starting point of this short hike along the Jura Ridge Trail. The Lake of Biel sparkles in sapphire green, while nearby the dark blue of Lake Neuchâtel greets the hiker, who looks back from the summit of Chasseral towards the Swiss Plateau. Beyond, the Alpine peaks appear like a painted backdrop on the horizon on clear days. The trail leads over the Vue des Alpes pass and down into the Creux-du-Van rock basin, into the Val de Travers, home of the "green fairy."
