Uri East-West At the far eastern end of the Urnerland lies the Alp Urnerboden. Nowhere else in Switzerland will you find so many cows in the summer as here. The idyllic plain is the starting point for this hike, which takes you from east to west across the canton of Uri. Along the way, you will discover various side valleys that are only accessible via small cable cars typical of the region. The first part of the hike will surprise you. A wonderful high-altitude trail, a crossing of a small peak, and the steep Wildheupfad will delight and challenge even experienced hikers. The Via Urschweiz, which is on the program after the stop in Altdorf, will take you to the wild-romantic Isenthal and on to the Klewenalp. Once from east to west through Uri: that is a great achievement to be proud of.
