The former smugglers’ paradise of Samnaun located in the Swiss, Austrian and Italian triangle has developed into a holiday resort for hiking enthusiasts and mountain bike riders. In winter the cross-border winter sports region of Samnaun and Ischgl (Austria) caters for the most discerning of visitors. All year round shrewd shoppers reap the benefits of the only tax-free resort in Switzerland.

The Valais mountain villages of Unterbäch, Bürchen and Eischoll are situated on a sun-drenched terrace high above the Rhone Valley. These small family resorts in the region of Augsbord are a walker’s paradise from spring to autumn, and a favourite family winter sports’ region in winter.

Eastern Switzerland’s city of St. Gallen is welcoming and close to nature. With its cathedral, the abbey library and its old town, it brings history and culture together. And since Lake Constance and the Alpstein are not far from here, you are guaranteed to find a suitable excursion.

The neighboring village of St. Moritz is by no means in its shadow: Celerina delights visitors with its charm, a variety of offerings and plenty of sunshine. San Gian, a church dating back to the 14th century, is perched just outside Celerina. It is the symbol of the village.

Frauenfeld, the capital of Canton Thurgau, is a lively small town. A striking eye-catcher is the castle in the charming old town. The wonderful surroundings are ideal for excursions, hiking and bicycle tours.

Auvernier, the site of one of the most significant prehistoric finds in Switzerland, is a traditional winemaking village on the shore of Lake Neuchâtel.

The little town of Avenches is set on the wide Broye Plain in the north of canton Vaud, near its border with canton Fribourg. The gentle rolling hills between the Lakes of Murten and Neuchâtel, the vineyards and the nature reserves are ideal for walking and cycling. Avenches, formerly Aventicum, the capital of Roman Helvetia, boasts a unique heritage from Roman times.

In terms of area, Gottlieben ranks among Switzerland's smallest communes. But with its pretty half-timbered buildings overlooking the Rhine, its splendid "Drachenburg" inn and its neo-Gothic castle, the picturesque village has plenty to offer. Gottlieben’s favourable location once made it an important trading place.

Morgins is located in the Val de Morgins on the border with France and is part of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area. Whether on the slopes in winter or on hiking and biking trails in summer - the charming mountain village offers nature, relaxation and sporting experiences for everyone.

The winegrowing village and former marketplace of Malans is located in the Bündner Herrschaft area, the only continuous winegrowing region in the canton of Graubünden.

The sunny holiday region of Thyon is located on the western side of the Val d'Hérémence in the Lower Valais, close to the canton capital of Sion (Sitten) at an altitude of 1500 m to 2100 m. Thyon is particularly geared up to meet the needs of skiers, and forms the eastern gateway to the vast "Four Valleys" skiing area.

Nestled between the mighty Säntis massif and the seven Churfirsten peaks, the resorts of Alt St. Johann, Unterwasser and Wildhaus are among the highest-lying municipalities in Toggenburg. Eastern Switzerland's largest winter sports area is just one hour from the airport and Zurich.

The pretty little town of Brugg and the commune of Windisch are located in the heart of the canton of Aargau, 30 km from Zurich at the confluence of three rivers: the Reuss, Limmat and Aare.

Laufen is a historic town on the River Birs in the Laufen valley in the canton of Basel-Landschaft. Particularly impressive are the still partially preserved town walls with its town gates and the striking main street.

Wonderful Liechtenstein - the tiny principality between Switzerland and Austria has developed into a preferred holiday destination - in particular for families. At a healthy 1600 meters above sea level, especially the area around Malbun has proven itself as ideal natural paradise both in summer and winter. Set just off the beaten path, the hamlet of Monthey was born in the French Savoie and passed under the domination of several different masters over its first centuries of existence. The city earned its franchise as early as 1352, however, which may have something to do with the inhabitant's good-natured but often-sardonic humor.

Sarn is a typical farming village with an authentic core that is well preserved and also well maintained.

With a smattering of ancient villages and typical architecture, this enchanting place is an ideal destination for family outings, walks in the woods or picking mushrooms.

The former fishing, farming and winegrowing village of Ermatingen is located on the delta of a stream directly on Lower Lake Constance, between Kreuzlingen and Steckborn, and is the first village in the Canton of Thurgau mentioned in a deed that still exists to this day.

The two sister towns that form Laufenburg are quite exceptional. Napoleon split the town in two over 200 years ago, but joint cross-border festivals are still an essential part of life in Laufenburg.

The striking features of Neunkirch in Canton Schaffhausen's Klettgau region are its unique, rectangular medieval layout and the rustic charm of its backstreets. Centuries-long repression by the city of Schaffhausen meant that Neunkirch remained nothing more than a large farming village, albeit with the look of a town.

Lake Maggiore combines Swiss charm with Mediterranean flair. In Locarno and Ascona, you can stroll along the lakeside promenades, enjoy the mild climate and discover picturesque alleyways. The Brissago Islands and the wildly romantic Verzasca Valley also beckon.

The wine-growing village of Dardagny is located on a vast plateau that overlooks the unspoilt valley of the Allondon river to the west. The surrounding topography has for centuries favoured the cultivation of vines on the best oriented slopes.
