Engelberger Talloipe
Overview
Intro
Cross-country skiing with a view: It’s not only the effort of completing this course that will take your breath away – so will the fantastic views of our magnificent mountain landscape.
Description
The free local bus takes winter sports enthusiasts from Engelberg railway station to various locations. The stop that cross-country skiers need to remember is “Sportingpark”, which is also just a five-minute walk from the station. This is the starting point for the 25 km Valley Cross-Country Trail.
Ready for the diverse trail with different branches across the entire Engelberg Valley? Whether you like to take it easy or zip along, the trail offers something for everyone. The start of the trail is flat, with just a slight ascent, and follows the Aa river to the golf course. Here you will find the Eienwäldli restaurant, your first opportunity to take a break and get up your strength for the ascent to Herrenrüti. Your efforts will be rewarded: The Herrenrüti is the highest point on the trail and offers a beautiful view over the village of Engelberg. From here it continues downhill back to Engelberg. Your next opportunity to take a break, the Wasserfall restaurant, is also right by the path.
Tip: The Valley Cross-Country Trail is divided into various short sections that can be completed separately. A trail map showing all the options is available from the Sportingpark or the tourist information centre.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
