Stunning views await on the summit of the Rigi. The impressive sea of fog that often appears in autumn and winter lies at the feet of winter sports enthusiasts on the “queen of mountains”. This relatively steep toboggan run promises a fast and thrilling ride.
Description
After an easy and convenient journey by cog railway, the toboggan run from Rigi Kulm via Schwändi starts at the very end of the Rigi Railway tracks. It leads from Rigi Kulm past the Chäserenholz Alpine farm with its own cheese dairy to Schwändi and down to Rigi Klösterli.
A historic place of pilgrimage once home to many Capuchin monks, Rigi Klösterli now welcomes holiday guests. Some stay at the hotel, while others seek refreshment after a tiring toboggan run or visit the beautiful pilgrimage chapel of St. Mary of the Snows. A sports shuttle train takes sledgers from Rigi Klösterli back to the start on Rigi Kulm.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
