With ideal winter and cross-country skiing conditions, the Menzingen-Loipe trail, also known as the Schurtannenloipe, has become a real insider tip for cross-country skiers. The beautifully designed cross-country trail leads through stunning countryside with views of Menzingen and its monastery.
Description
From the village of Menzingen, the road leads towards the Gubel past the Stockacher chapel to Stockacher, the starting point of the Schurtannenloipe trail. In ideal weather conditions, you can see as far as the Säntis and the nearby village of Menzingen, with its monastery with rococo chapel on the Gubel.
Following gentle slopes and descents, you'll enjoy the high plateaus of Schurtannen on this cross-country skiing excursion. You'll glide through idyllic scenery, along the picturesque brook, past picturesque farms, and towards Schwandegg Palace. Then it's off to the Neugrundmoor, where you can enjoy a short descent on cross-country skis, in addition to the beautiful scenery, the fresh mountain air, and wonderfully groomed cross-country trail. From now on the way back to the starting point in Stockacher is flat.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
