Fricktaler Höhenweg
Overview
Intro
Fricktaler Höhenweg is 60 kilometres long. Thanks to its excellent country and forest paths and the relatively low elevation gain, it’s also suitable for less experienced hikers. Hiking on the Fricktaler Höhenweg is particularly attractive in spring, when the region’s countless cherry trees are in full blossom.
Description
Located between the Rhine and the Jura, Fricktal region is ideal for hiking, thanks to its varied topography. You can see Fricktal region at its best along the Fricktaler Höhenweg. You feel like you could stay forever when the cherry trees are blossoming, the meadows are glowing yellow and making a stop at a barbecue site or restaurant for something to eat is so idyllic. The same applies when many-coloured leaves cover the forest paths in autumn, and the snow-capped hills of the Fricktal, the Black Forest and Basel region can be seen for miles around in the clear winter air.
Fricktaler Höhenweg is divided into five attractive stages. You can easily reach the start and end of each stage by public transport.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
