Rossberg-Loipe
Overview
Intro
A trail loops and twists its way across the meadowland below the ski lift in the small skiing area of Rossberg. The setting: the Arnist and its neighbouring peaks, with the Bäderhorn towering majestically in the background.
Description
Oberwil im Niedersimmental is located away from the road, on a slight elevation above the valley floor. Rising above the village is Mount Rossberg: an ideal destination for skiers and cross-country enthusiasts who like a homely, cosy ambience. The sun already shines in the morning here for the perfect start to a day of cross-country skiing.
But if you think that this trail across supposedly flat terrain is only for beginners, you're mistaken: you can expect a series of short sharp ascents or longer climbs that are not quite so demanding – and downhill stretches to match. So this is an ideal tour to work off all your energy! But the Rossberg trail is also ideal for novices because there are plenty of crossover points where the route can be shortened.
Starting from the turnoff to the ski lift, the trail loops its way first towards Rossberg Inn, and then towards Lamperehubel. Be sure to admire the views of the surroundings as you make your way. All around you is a magnificent mountain world: the Arnist rises proudly to your left, with the neighbouring Schibe and Wachli peaks on the right, and you can see the mighty Bäderhorn at the far end of the valley.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
