10th Zug Film Festival - Anniversary Edition
Panoramica
Introduzione
The Zug Film Festival is celebrating its anniversary!
Ten years of the Zug Film Festival—that’s ten years filled with films, encounters, great cinematic moments, and little surprises. What began as an idea is now an integral part of Zug’s cultural calendar. We want to celebrate that—and celebrate it in style! For this anniversary, we’ve put together a program that will get you excited about cinema, new stories, and the diverse world of Swiss filmmaking.
Once again this year, our programming team traveled from Locarno to Nyon, exploring film festivals with curiosity. They discovered, discussed, and selected films. And, of course, we’ve invited the people behind the films as well. After all, film truly comes to life when we can talk about it with the people behind the stories. We’re especially looking forward to Petra Volpe (HELDIN and DIE GÖTTLICHE ORDNUNG), who will be presenting her new film FRANK & LOUIS.
To mark our 10th anniversary, we’re introducing a new gathering spot: a festival center right on the lake! Here you can hang out, have a drink, and pick up tickets or popcorn. With the daily happy hour and a view of Lake Zug, it’s the perfect place to soak up the festival atmosphere.
Fifteen selected short films are competing for the “Golden Chriesi.” In just a few minutes, they explore what concerns and moves young people today. You, too, will help decide who takes home one of the trophies—either through online voting or right in the theater.
There’s also something in store for up-and-coming filmmakers. With a year-round program, we aim to support young talent, help them network, and make it easier for them to break into the industry. Our new Zug Film Academy during the festival will serve as their launchpad into the film industry.
For our anniversary, things can get a little louder! To celebrate, we’re leaving the theater and bringing some action straight to the Zug Exhibition Grounds with a stunt show.
In addition, the Zug Film Festival is sporting a fresh new look for its anniversary. What remains is our heart and soul: a dedicated team of volunteers who put their heart and soul into organizing the festival.
Whether you’re a film fan, a regular, or attending for the first time: the red carpet is rolled out for everyone.
A warm welcome to the 10th Zug Film Festival!
