Espace Consonance de Saxon : Soirée "Fééries Musicales" [EN]
Panoramica
Introduzione
“Musical Enchantments” – George Vassilev & Lionel Monnet at the Espace Consonance in Saxon. See you on Sunday, November 1, at 6:30 p.m. This concert is not included in the season ticket series.
A candlelit concert illuminated by a multitude of LEDs at night is an extraordinary sensory experience—a moment suspended in time, where time seems to stand still to make way for the magic of pure music.
Why the experience is extraordinary:
A magical visual immersion: LED candles illuminate the floor, the stage, and the performers, creating a subdued, intimate, and deeply warm atmosphere.
Total disconnection: The darkness invites contemplation and active listening. Far from the hustle and bustle of massive concerts, the audience finds itself enveloped by the sound, fostering a powerful emotional experience.
The combination of guitar and piano performing a Spanish repertoire by candlelight is one of the most enchanting combinations imaginable. The percussive yet intimate resonance of the classical guitar perfectly complements the intensity and lyricism of the piano, bringing out the best in the Iberian compositions of Rodrigo, Albéniz, Granados, and Falla.
The ideal repertoire to expect:
Timeless masterpieces:
The Concierto de Aranjuez (Joaquín Rodrigo): The Adagio movement, reimagined for guitar and piano, is a pinnacle of pure emotion by candlelight.
“Asturias” (Isaac Albéniz): A legendary concert piece for guitar.
“Danzas Españolas” (Enrique Granados): Melancholic and vibrant melodies that capture the very soul of romantic Spain.
THE PERFORMERS:
Georges Vassilev, guitarist, member of the “Fuego Quinteto” (specializing in the music of Astor Piazzolla), first prize winner at the Geneva International Music Competition.
Lionel Monnet, pianist, member of the “Fuego Quinteto” (specializing in the music of Astor Piazzolla), First Prize winner at the Rotterdam International Competition.
