THEATRE, MODE D’EMPLOI
Panoramica
Introduzione
By the Spell Mistake’s Company
Two actors take the stage to explain what the art of theater is all about, far from dusty clichés. They step forward, feel their way, and sometimes argue. Both share the same goal: to inspire people to go to the theater. To put their words into action, the duo sets out to perform an Austrian play. Now, it’s Franz and Margaret who must flee Vienna as it burns at the end of World War II. The magic takes hold and grows: we find ourselves deep in the Austrian countryside, in the midst of a snowstorm. But suddenly, eras collide; Franz and Margaret leap from 1945 to 2023 and are stunned to discover contemporary Europe, its political issues, and smartphones…Cast and Crew: Book by Hervé Blutsch and Benoît Lambert Directed by Maïanne Barthès Assistant Director Léonie Kerckaert Performed by Marion Astorg and Romane Bauer Costumes by Ouria Dahmani-Khouhli and Vérane Mounier Produced by Compagnie Spell Mistake(s) Originally produced by the Comédie de Saint-Étienne With support from DIESE# Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, a job placement program of L’École de la Comédie de Saint-Étienne.
