Following \*D’Autres\*, Tiphanie Bovay-Klameth is back, alone on stage, yet never truly alone. She brings to life a whole gallery of characters who are trying to make art together, in an amateur choir preparing a show about peace. A solo performance that is as funny as it is moving. At the centre is Brigitte. A mother with a heavy heart, she is a carer for her own mother, who is starting to lose her marbles. An active member of the local choir, she carries the whole burden without complaint. Or almost. Surrounding her is a whole community that is utterly endearing, which Tiphanie Bovay-Klameth brings to life with formidable precision: an accent, a posture, or the slightest gesture is enough to switch from one character to another in a fraction of a second, with no apparent seam or loss of breath. We recognise our mothers, our neighbours, ourselves. It is in these little things – a collection of ducks, a rehearsal that goes off the rails, a word that sticks – that the Lausanne-based actress finds an unexpected poetry. All held together by an unstoppable sense of rhythm, a contagious generosity and a humour that never lets up. Ultimately, \*Paix\* confirms a unique voice – that of an artist who transforms the ordinary into something deeply compelling.
This show is also part of the City of Nyon’s \*Par elles et par Nyon\* programme, which brings together initiatives aimed at highlighting the role and contributions of women and gender minorities in the public sphere and in local history, whilst promoting representation
