Let's get to work on the cabbage! Together, we'll shred, stomp, and ferment sauerkraut, breathing new life into an old tradition. There will also be delicious food, coffee, and cake.
Now it’s time to “get to work on the cabbage”—and together we’re reviving an old tradition.
Shredding, pounding, salting, and packing the cabbage into jars—here, sauerkraut is made by hand. Joining us is Patrick Marxer, who, with passion and a wealth of experience, demonstrates how to turn cabbage into truly delicious sauerkraut and shares his knowledge of fermentation.
Did nature bless you with an abundance of cabbage this fall? Then bring your own, along with a suitable container. If you don’t have one on hand, you can also purchase cabbage and containers from us. That way, everyone gets to take their own sauerkraut home at the end. The utensils and ingredients needed for pickling will be available on site.
And because working together works up an appetite, we’ll be cooking over an open fire. We’ll also be serving coffee, cake, and much more.
Stop by between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you.
