How Flower Design Frames a Picture-perfect Wedding Text, provided by Tabea Lisa Maria

Designing for this wedding at Alex Lake Zürich, a five-star hotel right on the lake, was a dream. The bride came from the US and told me she fully trusted my vision – which gave me the freedom to create something truly personal. I decided to go for a monochrome yellow concept: bold, bright, and full of joy. The color looked stunning against the modern design of the hotel and the calm blue of the water. To match the Italian music and cuisine, I added Sicilian busts to the table design – a little artistic detail that made the whole look feel warm and full of personality.

When I first arrived at Bergtrotte Osterfingen, surrounded by vineyards, I couldn’t believe how beautiful and remote it was. The high, open room felt full of potential, and I knew right away: this space needs color. With so many guests, I wanted to bring movement and variety into the design. I created a large floral installation above the couple’s table to make the room feel more intimate and added small details – like different chairs and flower accents – to give the setup rhythm and character. The color palette was one of my all-time favorites: full of life, warmth, and joy.

Designing at the Bürgenstock Resort was a special experience – the ceremony took place in a hidden cave inside the hotel, a spot discovered by the planners Claudia and Marlene at CM Weddings. The space had so much character with its stone walls, mirrors, and soft light. I wanted my floral design to reflect the modern architecture while adding softness and a romantic feel. The couple loves architecture and fashion, so I worked with shape and contrast to connect both worlds – clean lines, sculptural flowers, and a touch of drama. It turned into one of my favourite projects ever.

For this ceremony at Portes des Iris, I designed the floral concept in the middle of a forest path – one of the venue’s most magical locations. I wanted the flowers to feel bold but still like they belonged there, growing naturally between the trees. The result was a ceremony wonderland: elegant, colourful, and a little wild. Every arrangement followed the rhythm of nature, creating a setting that felt timeless and full of quiet beauty.
